Lydshaw Bed and Breakfast in North Devon is located in the village of Northam which lies between the ancient port and market town of Bideford, and the seaside resort of Westward Ho!, a village made famous by Charles Kingsley’s book of the same name. Lydshaw is situated in a quiet private lane with absolutely stunning panoramic sea views overlooking Bideford Bay and beyond.
Your magnificent vista encompasses the landscape stretching from Baggy Point to Hartland Point incorporating Westward Ho! Beach and Saunton Sands. Northam Burrows - a nature reserve and home of the Royal North Devon Golf Club, the oldest course in the country. The river Taw and Torridge estuary and the quaint, picturesque, old fishing village of Appledore with its narrow streets and pretty cottages.
You are welcome to sit in the garden and enjoy these stunning sea views or relax in the conservatory whilst watching the sunset over Lundy Island.
The village of Northam which is a 10 minute walk away has a pub, restaurant, ‘takeaways’ and shops, as do Bideford, Westward Ho! and Appledore – all within a mile radius. The South West Coastal Path is also within walking distance and in addition to being ideally located for the beach and local amenities, Lydshaw is the perfect base for exploring North Devon and all it has to offer.
